To measurably improve the health, wellness and quality of life for the people
of Pottawatomie County and its surrounding communities.
AREAS OF GRANT SUPPORT:
Avedis Foundation provides grants for projects which advance its mission
and areas of focus, which include:
• Projects that address
-- Physical well-being
-- Intellectual well-being
-- Emotional well-being
-- Social well-being
-- Spiritual well-being
-- Environmental wellness
• Projects that enhance and support education and training
Projects by religiously affiliated organizations, civic, community or fraternal organizations must primarily benefit the community or general public. In cases involving a public emergency, all guidelines of this policy may be temporarily suspended upon approval by the Avedis Foundation Board of Directors.
AREAS OUTSIDE THE NORMAL SCOPE OF SUPPORT:
• Projects FOR or TO:
-- Individuals
-- Political purposes, including lobbying
-- Out of area projects or organizations
-- Start-up funding for new organizations
-- General operating expenses, including annual campaigns or direct mail solicitations
-- Profit making ventures; prohibited by law
-- Feasibility studies
-- Financial or loan guarantees
-- Direct support of government agencies and their normal responsibilities
-- Sectarian religious activities
Avedis Foundation takes collaboration very seriously and will work with a range of partners to achieve Foundation goals.

-- Nonprofit organizations
-- City, county and community agencies
-- Educational institutions
-- Co-funders working together toward common goals
Avedis Foundation is committed to:
• respect grant seekers through promptness, courtesy, responsiveness and objectivity in assessing how their grant request meets
its philanthropic goals;
• communicate honestly and directly with those seeking support;
• demonstrate both accountability to and support for grantees after a grant is approved
ELIGIBILITY:
Avedis Foundation supports only public agencies, educational institutions and other not-for-profit organizations as qualified under applicable sections
of the Internal Revenue Code. Said organizations must be within Pottawatomie County or its surrounding communities.
The annual granting budget shall be in an amount that complies with the applicable Internal Revenue Service requirements.
Grants will be established through three distinct methods:
1.) Application from eligible organization(s) during advertised grant cycle.
2.) Challenge grants, awarded contingent upon the applicant's additional obligation to fund a pre-determined amount of
the project within a specified time frame.
3.) Proactive collaboration between Avedis Foundation and eligible organization(s).
In each case, priority will be given to projects that are collaborative in nature, involving two or more eligible organizations.

The Avedis Foundation is pleased to announce that we are offering an open grant cycle for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. A link to the Letter of Intent and
appears below. Successful applicants will be notified by email if they are invited to complete the full application.
We welcome applications from qualified organizations whose grant requests align with the Avedis vision: to measurably improve the health, wellness
and quality of life for the people of Pottawatomie County and its surrounding communities.
